Global Cover Skin Design Competition for G3 NetBook
Introduction:
The Global Cover Skin Design Competition for G3 NetBook is jointly organized by M-Zone/G3 – brand names developed by China Mobile and NewWebPick. The competition aims to touch up the shell of the delicate G3 NetBooks with the designers’ brilliant concepts, thus evolving them into customized designs for the vigorous M-Zone users (M-Zoners). Through the designers’ innovative designs, the NetBooks will be re-shined with the unique and colourful personality of the users. In addition to its 40 official awards which amounts to a total prize $27,000 (USD) topped by a grand award of $7,000 (USD), and the desihn works is profiled in the reputable media. NewWebPick partnering with M-Zone/G3 of China Mobile is proudly presenting to you the Global Cover Skin Design Competition for G3 NetBook.

M-Zoner:The M-Zoners, i.e. users of M-ZONE, are young mavericks, being into style, abandoning dogmas and living freely and easily. “M-Zone, my turf and my zone” is their motto.
G3
G3 stands for “the Third Generation Mobile Communications Technical Standard”, which brings about a brand-new communications platform to unfold the brilliance of digital information. Its logo implies that life is of constant changeability and infinity.
G3 NetBook
G3 NetBook is a new model of laptop computer jointly launched by China Mobile and various reputable manufacturers, which is modeled with built-in China Mobiles 3G communications module to access internet for information, entertainment and mobile business purposes whenever and wherever necessary.
MIGU
Migu is a China Mobile’s cartoon representative for its wireless mobile music program, which represents the love for music.

Groups of Competition:
The Competition consists of 3 groups, namely: M-Zone Representatives Group; G3 Group; Migu Group. To participate in the competition, participants should select one category or more and prepare works by utilizing the officially provided materials.
1. M-Zone Representatives Group
Participants should design their works according to the M-Zone representatives’ images, i.e. Jay Chow, S.H.E. and Wilber Pan, as well as the established M-Zone style. Creative works should be based on the M-Zone representatives’ photos. The re-designed cartoon images from photos retaining their styles and temperaments are also welcome.
IMPORTANT:
Eligible works submitted should include either the 5-person group image of Jay Chow, S.H.E. and Wilber Pan or individual image (note that S.H.E.’s individual image should still be a 3-person group Eligible works submitted should include the logo of M-Zone
2. G3 Group
Eligible works submitted should, integrated with the G3 logo or utilized the 4 colours of the logo, demonstrate a life of efficiency, excellence and infinity in line with the established style of the M-Zone brand. It should be loved and accepted by the M-Zoners.
IMPORTANT:
Eligible works submitted should include the logo of G3. It is recommendable that the logo be smoothly integrated into the works as a creative element
3. MIGU Group
Eligible works submitted could be re-development of the original Migu image by representing M-Zoners’ life scenes, which is better received by the young generation. Recommendable variants are Migu rock-n-roll, Migu Cowboy, etc. with further transformation.

Styles of Works:
The style of eligible works should be of the themes and images that attract the young generation since the Competition aims to solicit designs for the G3 NetBook to be customized for the M-Zoners.- Stereograph:

Instructions to Participants:
1. Individuals and organizations are all welcome to participate in the competition.
2. Participants may download the templates and reference materials via the competition’s official website http://youwin.newwebpick.com/mobile.
3.There is no limit for the number of works to be submitted by each participant. However, please note that works must be submitted in e-format. Participants should complete registration procedure at the competition’s official platform http://youwin.newwebpick.com/mobile and upload his/her works for display and public online voting.
Format of Works:
Please study the instructions prior to uploading works to the competition’s website. It is advisable that all participants save the original design with resolution of 300 dpi (or higher) or vector design format properly, which will entitle him/her to receive awards once he/she is announced to be the winner. Participants may choose to do the original design by adobe illustrator or photoshop. Non-vector format image should at least be 300 dpi or above.
Works for Online Display:
Small image - 160*120 pixels in GIF format;
Large image - 800*600 pixels drawing demonstrating on the NetBook cover in JPG format, which would be less than 500k with materials stated.
Evaluation Criteria:
1. Participants’ observance to the group category requirements.
2. Participants’ level of ingeniousness and imagination in utilizing the officially provided reference materials.
3. The stylishness and personality of the submitted works to attract the M-Zoners.
This competition introduces online voting in the prize awarding evaluation, namely, online votes, points and comments will be taken as part of the award criteria.
In case a registered user votes more than once for the same works, only his last voting points will be regarded as eligible. To restrict cheating in online voting, NewWebPick reserves the right of final interpretation of the award evaluation.
Anyone will become an eligible online voter once completing registration procedure via www.NewWebPick.com. NewWebPick Competition Committee will pick registered voters at random to be winners of NewWebPick e-magazine one-year prepaid card (RMB28.00 Yuan). Evaluation Procedures:
1. Complete the registration via NWP’s official website www.NewWebPick.com and fill in the form with the true name and contact details.
2. Read the instruction carefully before uploading your works. Those that both are in compliance with the requirements posed by the competition and pass the preliminary examination by the organizers will be displayed via NewWebPick’s website for online voting.
3. As soon as the preliminary voting statistics are ready, the organizers will notify the relevant participants for submission of the original design, therefore it is strongly advisable that all participants fill in the correct contact numbers and details at registration so that the organizers could extend the winning information without delay. Please note that those who cannot submit the original design will be disqualified for any awards.
4. The final awards will be announced via NewWebPick’s official website upon conclusion of the Competition. The awards will be sent to the winners after the Competition’s Awards Announcement.
Special Notices:
1. Works submitted to the competition should be original by the designer(s). Participants will be disqualified should the copyright of submitted works be found disputable or defective.
2. The award winning works of the competition would be owned by the organizers. Should the copyright of the award winning works be found disputable, the actual submitting party should bear the legal liabilities/responsibilities. It is advisable that all participants save the original design with high resolution properly. Those who fail to submit the original design will be disqualified for any awards
3. No works that have been published or commercially utilized would be taken eligible in the competition.
4. Being the organizer, NewWebPick possesses the right to display, exhibit, promote and publish all the award winning works of the competition. China Mobile’s M-Zone will take such award winning works as its product design pattern. The award winners’ receiving the prize money is regarded as their consent that the organizers possess the works’ commercial usage rights.
5. The organizers reserve the right of final interpretation of the competition. Should any participant be found violating any of the above conditions, the organizers reserve the right to immediately disqualify him/her upon verification and confirmation. Should the participant(s) have received the prize when found violating the above conditions, the prize money should be recovered in full.
